o Abstract

The WRPW motif mediates recruitment of transcriptional co-repressors of the Groucho/transducin-like enhancer-of-split (TLE) family, and has been identified in the Hairy family of basic-helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain-containing proteins and the Runt family proteins (WRPY) (8001118, 8649374, 8687460). In these two protein families, the motif is situated at (or near) the C-terminus. Additional Groucho binding motifs not restricted to the C-terminus are: FRPW in Huckebein (Drosophila) near the N-terminus [10433905], and FKPY in Brinker (Drosophila) (11159907).
