Functional site class: MYND ligand
Functional site description: The MYND zinc finger found in certain transcription factors and transcriptional cofactors interact with other proteins through the PxLxP motif.
ELMs: LIG_MYND
Description: The MYND finger is a protein domain with a Cys6-His-Cys-motif found in some transcription factors, Suppressin (SPN; a suppressor of cell proliferation), and BS69 and m-Bop, putative transcriptional cofactors. The MYND domain of BS69 has been shown to interact with the viral tumour antigens E1a and ENBA2 as well as with MGA, a Myc-related protein (11733528), while the MYND domain of m-Bop binds the transcriptional activator skNAC (12011100). All these interactions involve one or two PXLXP motifs.

o Abstract

The MYND finger is a protein domain with a Cys6-His-Cys-motif found in some transcription factors, Suppressin (SPN; a suppressor of cell proliferation), and BS69 and m-Bop, putative transcriptional cofactors. The MYND domain of BS69 has been shown to interact with the viral tumour antigens E1a and EBNA2 as well as with MGA, a Myc-related protein [11733528], while the MYND domain of m-Bop binds the transcriptional activator skNAC [12011100]. All these interactions involve one or two PxLxP motifs.
