Abstract
Cyclin dependent protein kinases consist of a catalytic kinase domain dependent on a group of proteins called cyclins to become active and phosphorylate substrates. These kinases are essential of cell cycle regulation (eg cdc2/cdk1, cdk2, cdc28). These kinases are generally expressed through out the cell cycle, with the synthesis and degredation of the cyclins during specific phases of the cell cycle.
